Commander Lando's Weekly Zone 5 Community Update is below and attached. Incidents from Highland Park include: 4/27/17 Man with a Gun – Portland Street & Stanton Avenue, 3:29 PM. Officer responded to a 911 call for a shirtless male with a gun walking in the 900 block of Portland Street. Upon arriving in the area, the officers saw a male, 24, of Highland Park, matching the description given by the 911 caller. The male had a gun sticking out of his waistband and was verbally confrontational with the officers. The male was detained briefly until officers could verify his identity and that he did have a license for the firearm. He was then sent on his way. (76266) 4/28/17 Theft from Vehicle – 1100 block N. Negley Avenue. A Trek Speed Concept 7.0 Time Trial bike was stolen from the victim's vehicle. It has a black frame with green lettering and is valued at $3,000.00. There are "Ironman" stickers on the seat post. If you spot this bicycle, please call 911.
