HOUSING AND CAR HELP NEEDED FOR FAMILY AWAITING MULTI-ORGAN TRANSPLANT Hello Neighbors, We recently became friends with a single mom, Elisa, from Italy who is in Pittsburgh awaiting a multi-organ transplant for her eight year old daughter, Giorgia, who suffers from a rare disease, Berdon Syndrome. It is difficult to explain all the barriers to health and well-being that she and her family face as they await a match. Giorgia is hooked up to a machine for up to 18 hrs/day to replace what her organs cannot do. The language barrier is not the least of their worries, so I am networking to help them find a better living situation. Because Giorgia cannot use steps, they are searching for a ranch or two story home, with 4 - 5 bedrooms. They are also looking for a car solution. Because Elisa does not have a SS#, she cannot get car insurance, so she must rent a car and you can imagine the costs associated with a long-term stay. They are not charity cases and are willing to pay for what they need, but they are fish out of water with specific needs. Whatever information, networks or ideas that you can supply that may help her with just these two problems would be appreciated. Thank you -
