HOUSING AND CAR HELP NEEDED FOR FAMILY AWAITING MULTI-ORGAN TRANSPLANT Hello Neighbors, We recently became friends with a single mom, Elisa, from Italy who is in Pittsburgh awaiting a multi-organ transplant for her eight year old daughter, Giorgia, who suffers from a rare disease, Berdon Syndrome. It is difficult to explain all the barriers to health and well-being that she and her family face as they await a match. Giorgia is hooked up to a machine for up to 18 hrs/day to replace what her organs cannot do. The language barrier is not the least of their worries, so I am networking to help them find a better living situation. Because Giorgia cannot use steps, they are searching for a ranch or two story home, with 4 - 5 bedrooms. They are also looking for a car solution. Because Elisa does not have a SS#, she cannot get car insurance, so she must rent a car and you can imagine the costs associated with a long-term stay. They are not charity cases and are willing to pay for what they need, but they are fish out of water with specific needs.
