my trash bin is not your dog restroom !
Dear neighbor, Every Monday morning, someone is walking his dog on Sheridan street ( 800 block)* and dropping his fresh dog poop in my empty garbage bin.* And every single Monday morning this is happening ! *Please stop doing this, *it is so inconsiderate. Wait to reach your own home and trash bin to do so. Thank you very much Christine
Dear Christine, Thank you for saying this. I have a similar issue with this on North St. Clair and truly hope that our neighbor who is doing this would stop. This is not neighborly but quite very disrespectful. In addition, the trash collection employees *will not* dispose of the bags. Please don't use other people's bins to discard your trash. And, apologies for tacking onto this thread -- because I thoroughly enjoy this informative listserv! I don't own a pet, and neither do we experience this problem, BUT, it would be helpful to have clarification on this. These emails seem to indicate the person should take the poo home to their own trash, while at the same time, saying the poo will not be picked up by sanitation collectors if it's in someone else's trash. Please explain, so these folks know more clearly what to do. WHAT is the proper, and LEGAL way to handle this dog poo problem? (With apologies to the canines with inconsiderate owners) Now if we can move on to dogs peeing on my front garden and killing plants.... Best! I’m not sure how to write in about this - but this is happening more and more. I just witnesses it with my own eyes in addition to the many times I see it on my camera. Can neighbors please understand that the sanitation workers will not dispose of the loose poop bags you can’t wait a block and half to dispose of at your own home. It goes straight to the bottom of our bin and we have to then pick up YOUR large dogs poop from the bottom of our bin and put it in OUR trash for the next week to be picked up.
Thank you

I asked about people placing anything in your trash cans, they said to call the police and report the person. Not easy to do when the people are walking dogs early and late and not taking their dog waste home with them On Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at 08:45:34 AM EDT, Christine Bethea <passports.art@gmail.com> wrote: I don't own a pet, and neither do we experience this problem, BUT, it would be helpful to have clarification on this.
