I am posting this for a friend and I wanted to let everyone know about a crime spree that has been going on. A friend that lives on Hampton (near Chislett) has been broken into 4 times in the last two months and she has had two additional times when a break-in was attempted. She has reported the break-ins and attempted break-ins to the police each time. Additionally her next door neighbor was also broken into a couple of times. The break-ins are happening during the day Thus far only one person has mentioned seeing anything (and this person did not call the police). The person said she saw a man with a blue van (parked in the side alley) who was taking stuff off porch of my friend's neighbor's house and running away with it and getting into the van. The person(s) breaking in has been getting in by using a crow bar to pry open the front door and back door as well as breaking in through a window. The person(s) are quite brazen to keep hitting the same houses during the day, but they know that people are at work and so far no one has reported seeing anyone to the police. I would encourage everyone to be vigilant and report any suspicious behavior. Watching out for each other is our own best security. I also hope that if any police are encouraged to step up patrols until the criminal(s) are caught. thanks Susan Belville
