Former Vice Presidential Candidate to Speak at Union Project Come to Union Project on Friday, August 4th for an early lunch at Union Station Café...then from Noon until 2 you can listen to former Vice Presidential Candidate John Edwards speak about Wake- Up Wal-Mart, a grassroots campaign to educate people about Wal-Mart. New Clay Classes Begin in August A new slate of clay classes, including beginning wheel throwing, large-scale wheel throwing, open studio, and a teapot workshop are beginning the 3rd week of august. Only 2 stained glass classes left Union Project has only 2 stained glass classes left. Our innovative stained glass window project is nearing completion and window restoration classes may become more rare. Be sure to sign up for a class in August or October if youve been thinking about one for a while. The folks at the Union Project are relentless in providing for you endless summer good times. The first weekend of the month is right around the corner and don't think for one minute that we forgot about you. Starting August 4th from 6-8 pm we will have DJ Nuke Nocca, cool refreshments and lots of old school games like, (do I even need to say it) BOCCE BALL. Saturday, 10 am to 2 pm August 5th, we will have DJ Omar-Abdul, Homegrown Saturdays (the farmer's and artist market), games and art activities for kids and adults (yes, bocce is available) and the Union Station Cafe. All free. Contact events@unionproject.org for more information. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR VERY FUN TASKS! We are looking for 10-15 volunteers for the events posted above. There are a variety of areas that need the special touch of a volunteer such as leading a game of bocce ball, or badminton, painting a child's face, setting up a colorful tent or creating something glorious from Popsicle sticks. August 12th, Homegrown Saturdays is joining forces with Whole Foods to provide you with an even more diverse market in the parking lot of Whole Foods. THIS IS A ONE-TIME EVENT! So, please go out and support our vendors August 12th from 9 am to 1 pm! KEEP YOUR EAR TO THE GROUND... For news of an upcoming exclusive on the Union Project's first Rib Cook-Off!!!
