[Highland Park] Copper Down Spout Theft- 1100 Block North Sheridan

A Copper downspout was stolen and a second one dislodged at our home in the 1100 block of North Sheridan. Theft occurred around 10:30 on Monday 12/19. My mother was returning from her walk at the reservoir and was in the 1200 block of Sheridan. She saw a white male in a white sweatshirt walk up our driveway. Thinking it was a delivery person, she hurried and as she approached the intersection of Sheridan and Bryant, the individual ran down our driveway with the downspout. He proceeded up Bryant Street( toward Heberton) to a dark colored van, threw the downspout in and sped away. She reported that it all happened so very quickly that she was unable to get the license plate number. Police have been notified.
