Steel City Hoop Union invites you to come to our 2nd (annual??!) "hOOp for Haiti" at the Union Project this Tuesday, February 1st, from 6:30-8:30 pm!! Haiti has just marked the one-year anniversary of the powerful earthquake that killed 250,000 people and devastated much of the country. As they continue to struggle to rebuild, we are asking that you join us in raising money for this beautiful nation. This year's proceeds will go to FilterPure Filters (http://www.filterpurefilters.org/), an organization which creates simple, effective, and sustainable water filters-- water filters which provide clean water and can resolve the cholera outbreak. All levels, ages, and sizes are hoopin-heartily welcome to partake in this Haitian celebration! We will be hooping to some Haitian grooves! Gwen Tucker will lead us in some Zumba fun, and we may have live musical guests! There will also be a silent auction, and John Zolko of FilterPure Filters will speak about the organization as well as demonstrate how the filter process works. Together we will also enjoy some Haitian refreshments!! We are requesting a $10 donation for those who come, of which 100% will go to FilterPure Filters; please pay what you can. *NOTE: If you have an item to donate for the silent auction, or if you would like to provide a Haitian dish for the event, please contact us(!): Stefanie Moser, spinsterhoops@gmail.com Erika Johnson, bluegreenchair@gmail.com We had such a tremendous blast last year, so don't miss it! Join us for this special Hoop Union Tuesday, brought to you by the Steel City Hoop Union with the wonderful support of the Union Project.
