experience with video anyone?

Hi Wonderful ,helpful neighbors, I ( well, really my daughter) needs some help or advice & suggestions on doing a video of her outside wedding( on mt.Washington) so that she can then play it at the recpetion. She is hoping just a friend can take the video duting the service but not sure how the sound would be, or if they would need some sort of mic. If anyone has experience in this we would love to talk to you! thanks Erin
