Very suddenly, aggressive bees have appeared in my flower garden. They are definitely not honeybees, and they are not yellowjackets, paper wasps, or carpenter bees (I am quite familiar with all of these). I've done a little research online and have been unable to positively identify what I am seeing. I suppose it's possible they are a species of hornet. Does anyone out there have a similar problem? These insects resemble honeybees, and are perhaps a little larger, but have a more strongly striped abdomen; have a much faster, hovering flight pattern; are visiting flowers and apparently collecting pollen; and are aggressive toward other pollinators and definitely toward me. Is anybody out there having a similar experience, or have any ideas? Many thanks! Janna Eversmeyer North Euclid Avenue
