someone to adjust necklace?

i got a chain for my husband, but weirdly it came with extra links to make it length-adjustable. he doesn't (obviously) want extra links hanging down the back of his neck. is there someone with jewelry tools who could trim off these bits and hook up the clasp? thanks! joy
