Good Morning, I'm not sure if anyone is missing a black cat with white paws...she seems to have taken a liking to our yard and basement (she came in through a vent that has since been closed).... Could this also be a stray...no collar or ID??? We are in the 800 block of Highland... and would welcome any assistance...or ideas Mary Lee -----Original Message----- From: Megan Olson Hunt <megan.olson.hunt@gmail.com> To: neighborhood <neighborhood@highlandparkpa.com> Sent: Tue, Sep 11, 2012 11:54 pm Subject: [Highland Park] Help trapping a stray cat Hello neighbors, I know a woman posted here previously about actively catching stray cats - I'm looking to get in touch w/ her or anyone w/ a large enough live-trap and who is comfortable dealing w/ cats (including those that are not used to human attention). Unfortunately we had some neighbors who moved out of state and left behind mutiple cats, all but one of which have already been brought to the Animal Rescue League by our other neighbors. Over the years, the former neighbors were responsible for mutiple litters and generations of cats (because none of the cats were spayed or neutered), which received no medical care and many of which died, unfortunately and uncessarily. There is one cat remaining, which yet another neighbor (looks like this is a four-neighbor process) had been feeding but can no longer take care of. As far as I know, this cat has had no medical attention/shots and is not spayed (I think it's a little girl). She's maybe a year old? Tough to know which litter she came from for sure. We cannot take her in as we have three dogs that would probably like to eat her. Also, she's had little or no human contact - she hangs around all the time but doesn't let you get very close. I personally am not aiming for a bite or clawing, so I keep my distance. That being said - she's actually a really cute cat. So, given she is not actively being fed (as of two days ago) by those who used to feed her, I'm guessing she's going to start moving to greener pastures. Fine - but she's not spayed and I don't want to see this cycle continue. Thus, if anyone has a live-trap, or knows someone who is comfortable catching and dealing w/ cats, I would love the contact info. Our goal is to get her caught, spayed, and ideally to the Animal Rescue League, but at a minimum spayed. Any help is appreciated.
