Hi Neighbors,
There is good news and bad news about Health Ride bikes. The good news is that the system is being upgraded in 2022, including a complete equipment replacement (all new stations and bikes), and the introduction of e-assist bikes (bikes with electric motors). The bad news is that when they remove the old stations, they will not be able to replace them all at once, and the Highland Park station at Stanton and N. Negley is one of the stations that will not be replaced in the near term. The N. Negley and E. Liberty Blvd station will also be removed and not replaced. As a result, the closest station will be in East Liberty - see the attached map for details. The goal of Bike Share Pittsburgh to consistently expand year over year and bring back more stations to the neighborhoods and connect new communities to the bikeshare network. More information will be made available in 2022 - - we'll keep you posted as we learn more.
