Hi all, Please see the below, and consider helping out some of your East End neighbors this spring. Chris ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Craig Stevens <cstevens@familyresourcesofpa.org> Date: Mon, Nov 22, 2010 at 2:47 PM Subject: Volunteer to Prepare Taxes for Financially Struggling Families and Individuals in Your Neighborhood To: Chris Lisieski <chris.lisieski@gmail.com> Dear Friends, Looking for a way to 'give back' and benefit financially struggling families and individuals neighbors? You can do that by volunteering 3 hours or more as a tax preparer at the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program at Family Resources in East Liberty. Family Resources, a child abuse prevention and treatment organization based in East Liberty, is seeking volunteer tax preparers for their Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program which offers free tax preparation and filing to low income families and individuals, in collaboration with the Money In Your Pocket Campaign (Just Harvest, Goodwill and Family Resources) and the United Way of Allegheny County. During the 2010 tax season, Family Resources helped 650 households receive over $1 million in tax refunds! These dollars help financially struggling families and individuals pay for basic needs and debts and save for future goals, as well as spend money in their communities mostly in the East End of Pittsburgh and surrounding Allegheny County communities. Please see the attached Volunteer Brochure for more information. You can go to http://www.pghfreetaxes.org to fill out a volunteer application. Applications should be sent to United Way and indicate you wish to volunteer at Family Resources (or one of the other Money In Your Pocket Coalition VITA sites). Thanks and have a great Thanksgiving. *Craig Stevens* Supervisor, *Economic Empowerment Initiative (EEI)* Family Resources 5877 Commerce Street Pittsburgh, PA 15206 Ph: 412-363-1702 x 2215 Fax: 412-361-4802 cstevens@familyresourcesofpa.org www.familyresourcesofpa.org *Help for every family, hope for every child*
