This Saturday, September 30th, the Union Project is hosting the very first RIB COOK-OFF! Celebrity judges, a very unique crowning ceremony for the winner, aka, "Dutch or Duchess of Ribs" and live music is just some of what you can expect from this event. That's not all- the winner gets a spot as our only *BBQ preferred vendor* and a spot to cook and sell ribs next year from May-September- RENT FREE! So, come and join us Saturday from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Union Project and keep your eyes open for an entry form to be posted to our website. Contact events@unionproject.org for more information. STAINED GLASS REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS COMING Union Project’s groundbreaking Stained Glass program is growing and changing. Only one weekend intensive remains before Glass Action! takes over. Glass Action, Union Project’s newest social enterprise, will be taking over the stained glass work in the late fall of 2006. Open Studio Class #6C15 Join our own Union Project clay artists and others in the open studio. No formal instruction will take place, but students are invited to come and work in a cooperative atmosphere. We can all “learn by osmosis”. Open studio work times will be scheduled in 8-week sessions. You could pay by the week, at $15/week, or you may sign up for the whole 8 weeks for $100, which represents a $20 savings for you. Pouring Pots Class #6C17 Learn to make teapots, pitchers, decanters and more! Students will explore a variety of methods for creating pouring pots, designing for both proper function and inviting aesthetics. Students who are new to the potter’s wheel will also receive one-on-one instruction for basic wheel-throwing techniques. And this class wraps up just in time for holiday gift-giving! Cost for this class is $175. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED We’re starting to recruit volunteers for our annual Christmas Tree Sale, beginning at the end of November. Please be careful as you enter and exit our building during this construction project.
