Hi neighbors! Friends of the Pittsburgh Urban Forest is excited to present Arbor Aid 2009: Art Created From Salvaged Wood. I hope that some of you will consider attending this event, which is a week before the big Stanton Avenue tree planting on November 7th.* * * * *Arbor Aid* celebrates trees as a living resource in the City of Pittsburgh and encourages the possibilities they present for a longer sustainable future as furniture, flooring, artwork, and beyond. *Arbor Aid* features artwork created from salvaged urban wood: For this year’s event, all works will incorporate light! *Date:* Friday October 30th 7pm-11pm *Location*: 6th floor of the historic Guardian Storage Building at 2839 Liberty Avenue, *Featuring*: Music by Life in Balance and The Turpentiners, local food and libations, a silent auction and, of course, incredible artwork incorporating salvaged wood and light by local artists and woodworkers.
