Kind neighbors, As the cold season is still just beginning, I wanted to host a small drive to support any and all in our community who may need a hat, scarf, gloves, coat, shoes, blanket, or any other winter item. Drop off donations are welcome on the front steps of my house, 504 N Sheridan Avenue, 15206, located behind the Seminary. Text me at (878)670-5854 to let me know you've dropped by, or when to expect you. If you are unable to drop off but have donations, please reach out as I might be able to arrange something. My initial plan is to take each week's donations to East Liberty Farmers Market, which has a free closet for anyone in need and is open every Saturday morning from 5 am to noon. If anyone objects or has another suggestion in our community on where to donate so these are given out for free (aka not goodwill), please let me know. If this gets enough interest I would love to donate to a larger organization that distributes to those in need, rather than on a first come, first serve basis. But, we've got to start somewhere :) If anyone is interested in helping out by volunteering ideas, becoming a drop off location, or picking up donations, please reach out.
