From St. Andrew's, Highland Park . . .
Sunday May 7th is the Fourth Easter Sunday, "Good Shepherd Sunday," and, here in Pittsburgh as well, "St. Marathon Sunday"--with the annual running of the Pittsburgh Marathon . . . . Always a great day in our city and here in our neighborhood! St. Andrew's is located on Hampton Street at the very northern corner of the Marathon route, which runs from the East Liberty Boulevard up North Highland Avenue, then across Bryant Street, then down North Negley Avenue to Baum Boulevard. We *will* have our regularly scheduled 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. services of the Holy Communion on Marathon Sunday morning. Those who live within walking distance or "inside the loop" can make their way to St. Andrew's as usual. Those who live "outside the loop" are advised to park west of North Negley, east of North Highland, or north above Bryant Street, and then to walk in to St. Andrew's, using care to cross the race route. A more detailed map for planning may be found here: http://www.thepittsburghmarathon.com/Files/Admin/2017%20Course%20Maps/2017-M... For those who may be running in the Marathon, for those who will be lining the route to cheer, and for those who may find the cross-town traffic patterns too challenging, we will also be offering our customary "St. Marathon Eve" service of the Holy Communion in the Chapel at 5 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, May 6. There will be no Church School, Children's Chapel, or "Coffee and Conversation" this Sunday. The Adult Bible Study will be meeting at 10 a.m. in the Old Rectory Parlor. All programs will resume at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday May 14. -- *Bruce Robison* *Rector, St. Andrew's Church* *Highland Park, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania*
