Two deaths the past few days in our wider parish family. On Wednesday, long-time Highland Park, St. Clair Street neighbor and friend of St. Andrew's (and especially of our music program), Jeanne Schaeffer. Jeanne's husband John died in February, after a long illness. Arrangements are pending and services will be later this spring, at Sacred Heart Church. And with appreciation to Anne Barnes for passing on the news of the death on Friday of long-time St. Andrean, distinguished author, and good friend, Buddy Nordan. Buddy and Alicia had moved to Ohio several years ago, and he had been in declining health for some time. I don't know about arrangements yet, but I'm sure there will be something at the University, where he was for so many years a key leader in the Creative Writing program.
