Hello Fellow Neighbors, I want to inform you that our car was broken into sometime between Saturday evening after 7pm and Monday morning before 11am this past weekend. Luckily, we do not keep anything of much value except coin change and CD's (both of which are hidden from site). We always lock our doors, but this one time, we must have forgotten and were targeted. From speaking to another neighbor, their car was broken into this past weekend as well which is only three blocks away from us. I also should mention that two weeks ago (anytime between Wed evening after 10pm and Thur morning before 8:30am), in the early morning, I noticed one of our ski racks (on the roof of our car) was in a diagonal sitting on our roof. My first thought was that someone was trying to steal it. Then, after looking at it, I did not understand why someone would want to steal such a specific item. So, I decided the part simply must have rusted and came apart. Once the new parts arrived, I was looking the roof rack over more carefully and decided that it was most definitely being tampered with. It was obvious that a tool was being used to break the metal apart. So, not only do you have to make certain you leave nothing of value in your car, you must watch out for valuable items attached to your vehicles. If anyone has information regarding my two instances, I would greatly appreciate any and all feedback. Obviously, we all need to be on the look out for activity like this in our neighborhood.
