I ran into the rental owner yesterday and asked him to clean up the trash. He said he never received my phone message, and he cleaned up the trash right away. Thanks for all the tips and concern!

Well, this makes me even more concerned about the huge pile of rotting food waste spread across my neighbor's driveway. This includes rotting meats and cheeses which I would expect to be especially attractive to raccoons and other rodents. It is a 3 unit rental home and I left a message with the homeowner and put in an online complaint with 3-1-1. Any other ideas about how to get this mess taken care of?

This was the first time we heard anything about rabid raccoons around here. Does anyone else know about them and did anyone else get that kind of note?
It was too late to call the number on the note today, but I plan to call tomorrow and find out more about this. I don't think this could be some kind of scam, but I was surprised not to have heard anything until this note.
I will let everyone know what I find out. In the meantime, be alert re rabid raccoons. janet jai
