I have been supporting the Strip district in their fight against DOMA to make Penn Ave a single lane. I feel this would end the character and quality of life and businesses on Penn. I cannot go to the meeting but will be contact g Deb Gross’s office. If you agree with all of these groups that are against DOMA in this situation please email or call your own council person and ask them to stand up to DOMA Thanks, Leeann *LeeAnn Wagner Cica Ed.D, NCC* *lawcica@gmail.com <lawcica@gmail.com>* *lwc6@pitt.edu <lwc6@pitt.edu>* *lawcica@striveacc.com <lawcica@striveacc.com>* *412-901-0851* ---------- Forwarded message --------- From: Strip District Business Association < communications@stripdistrictbusinesses.org> Date: Wed, Sep 10, 2025 at 2:15 PM Subject: URGENT - Preserve the Strip - Public Meeting Tomorrow - EMAIL, CALL and ATTEND To: Rwilson <rwilson@pvainteractive.com> Good Afternoon, Firstly, we want to thank you for your support in our fight to halt the City's plan to devastate our beloved and Historic Strip District Community. *EMAIL, CALL and ATTEND!!!* We have been in a year and a half long opposition battle with the Department of Mobility and Infrastructure (DOMI) over their plan to reduce Penn Ave. to a single lane road. Despite the data presented and opposition from affected businesses, *public safety officials (Firefighters Union, EMS, Public Safety Council Chair, and the City Controller)*, concerned residents, and thousands of visitors like you, DOMI’s arrogance and “we know what’s best” attitude persists. We believe this plan is not only unsafe, but will completely devastate our beloved and historic neighborhood. The Strip District Business Association and others met again with DOMI just last week. The City's COO Lisa Frank, DOMI Representatives, and our District Councilman Bobby Wilson were all in attendance. Despite all of our robust and logical arguments, they made it clear our voice does not matter. They ignore our opposition and are determined to implement their plan before years end and the Gainey Administration is out of office. DOMI pushes forward with zero accountability and zero oversight. They are working autonomously without the need for approval from Fire, EMS or Public Safety Council, all of which are adamantly opposed to the project. ----------------------------------- We apologize for the short notice, but, in their effort to check another box and say they had a public meeting to review their final plans, city officials have pulled together a stakeholders Design Viewing for this Thursday, September 11th, 2025. As businesses, residents, employees and visitors we believe you are all stakeholders in our concern to Preserve the Strip. Whether you are able to attend in person or not, we ask that you reach out to Councilman's office directly with a phone call and email to voice your concerns and opposition.
