I was at the Highland Park Pool earlier today and Thomas Scott, who is the Operations Manager of Orkin Pest Control Commercial Services, was looking at the algae in the lake with his colleague. I spoke with him about the algae situation. He said that if his company had a contract with the city, they would treat the algae with Cutrine-Plus Algaecide/Herbicide, which he assured was a "safe" and natural way to treat the problem. I asked if it would be helpful for residents to contact the city to encourage treatment of the algae and he agreed that it would help them to get a contract to do so. So, if you are concerned, you may want to contact the city. Here is a link to information about Cutrine-Plus Product info, if you want to learn more about it. http://www.aquaticbiologists.com/Cutrine%20Plus%20Liquid.shtml
