From Richard Krepski, Nature-Watch: Please send your Fall foliage photos for possible inclusion in the next Nature-Watch column, appearing in the Highland Park Community Newsletter. Use the above address, jai@vision-and-values.com, because janet's e-mail seems to handle photos better than mine does. Please say "Foliage Photos" in the subject line. Local shots of Park and neighborhood only please. The October newsletter is just out. One correction--bees do not "fertilize" flowers, they "pollinate" them. Oops! Some timely information...A Great Blue Heron has been sighted again at Carnegie Lake adjacent to the Park swimming pool. Also, rabid raccoons have been confirmed in the vicinity. If you see an animal behaving strangely--listless, lame, disoriented, aggressive--contact Pittsburgh Animal Control right away.
