A list member asked how long it takes to get results about an informal hearing on a property assessment. My hearing was March 16th, and I was curious, too. I called the County and thought I'd share what I learned. 1) Some reviews take longer than others - esp. if they have to send an appraiser to your house. 2) There are 6 stages to the review process. My house is at stage 2, so I was advised to wait a couple more weeks and check back if I didn't hear anything. 3) You can call the Reassessment Office to get information about the progress of your appeal. 412-350-4600. Have your Parcel ID Number handy. I must congratulate the County and City employees. This process has been daunting for us, but it's also been a huge job for them - and they have been unfailingly polite and helpful. Jan M.
