This is a message from Allegheny Alerts. Public Works is expecting snow to start falling tomorrow afternoon and continue through Thursday morning. Accumulation is expected to be about 4 to 8 inches with the highest totals in the eastern part of the county. We will deploy 26 salt trucks installed with plows starting at 7 a.m. tomorrow. Drivers will be kept over the end of their shifts to provide continual coverage until the snow stops and county roadways are clear. We are continuing to monitor the weather and may adjust our plans based on the latest forecasts. The snow tomorrow might be heavy at times, including during the afternoon rush hour. We encourage drivers to slow down, plan additional time for their commute, leave extra space between their vehicle and the ones in front of them, and please give our salt truck drivers plenty of room to navigate.
