Dear neighbors, Since 2020 I have been working with the Bloomfield-Garfield Corporation on the repurposing of the former B'nai Israel sanctuary at 327 N Negley. For the first time in 30 years it will be open to the public. On May 15 the BGC is having a fundraising event--there's much work still to be done to realize the vision of turning this architectural gem into an arts and community gathering space. For the first time in more than 60 years the front doors to this beautiful building will be open. The architect Henry Hornbostel had a very particular experience in mind for people entering those Negley doors.
