Neighbors! I wanted to bring your attention to a lovely little organization that two of us Highland Park-ers work for: The Oakland Girls Choir. (One of those neighbors is me, the other is our accompanist.) It's an inspiring organization that educates girls from all across the city about music and singing in community. www.oaklandgirlschoir.org I hope that some of you may be interested in attending our concerts or perhaps even know a girl age 5 - 18 who could benefit from such an experience. We generally hold auditions in the Fall, so she might have to wait until next year, but if interested, please check out a concert! In addition, Andres Cardenes, previous concertmaster and conductor of the PSO, has generously agreed to give a recital (his only 2011 Pgh recital) benefiting the Oakland Girls Choir. If you like live violin music, this concert is going to be the absolute best. The concert takes place on Sunday, October 23 at Chatham University's Campbell Memorial Chapel. There's even a chance to meet Mr. Cardenes. More information can be found here: http://www.oaklandgirlschoir.org/content/vocal-goes-global-musical-celebrati... and tickets can be purchased here: http://www.proartstickets.org/events/view/939 Thanks!
