According to local news sources, "*Allegheny County health officials Wednesday said they are encouraging residents to stay put for Thanksgiving due to the alarming increased rate of positive COVID-19 tests. It is not an official order. But, it is an advisory, which means it is not enforced. Residents are asked to only go to work, school, and partake in essential activities.*" (see https://www.pennlive.com/news/2020/11/allegheny-county-endorses-stay-at-home... ). Note that if cases continue to climb, the advisory may become an order. Remember that many of our Highland Park businesses offer take-out and/or curbside pick-up, so please continue to support them if you can. Visit the businesses' websites or Facebook pages, or call them for details. Also, we still have the *Highland Park Helping Hands *Facebook page where neighbors can ask for and/or offer to provide assistance to those in need or who might be particularly isolated. The vaccines they are testing show lots of promise, but we need time for them to be fully tested, produced, and distributed. In the meantime, protect yourself and others: Follow the advisory. Wear a mask when you need to go out & can't distance. Stay calm. Stay safe. We can get through this together!
