[Highland Park] Recycle Walking, Running Shoes & Disposal of Outdated Medications

I'm cleaning out closets and have some old running and walking shoes to discard. I seem to remember that someone or group was collecting them for recycling. Where do I take them? I have some outdated medications that need to be disposed of. Does anyone know where we can do this? Ed Sullivan
