I live near the yellow apartment building on Bryant St. Over the last couple years, I have dealt with uncooperative management regarding their dumpsters. Large bulk items are left by the dumpsters, and Waste Management doesn't pick up bulk items unless the property management makes arrangements. Bulk items will sit out there for weeks at a time (right across from where my children play). The property is managed by AR Building Co. When I first spoke with them at the corporate office a couple years ago, they assured me that they would establish new protocols to follow at the Bryant St building to make sure this wouldn't happen - someone would go around the building every day to monitor the situation and make a phone call to Waste Management when appropriate. This protocol is obviously not followed. Bulk items sit out there for weeks at a time (one time there was a couch labeled Bed Bugs that sat out there for over a week until the staff in the District 7 City Council office got the ball rolling). This morning Waste Management actually moved a mattress and box spring to get to the dumpsters and then moved it back. This large mattress and box spring has been sitting out there for three weeks! I'd appreciate any feedback/suggestions from neighbors regarding dealing with dismissive property management. Your frustrated neighbor, Melinda
