Zone 5 Weekly Crime Report Week of July 15 through July 21 Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Zone 5 Police Station Weekly Crime Report *Week of July 15th through July 21* *Homewood / East Hills* *7/16/19-Robbery 7000 block of Apple at 5:30 PM *A female victim called 911 and reported that a known female pushed her onto a couch, punched her several times, stole her phone, and fled on foot. Officers were able to locate the female suspect identified as Monique Givner, 39, of Homewood, and arrested her. (140214) *7/17/19-Aggravated Assault-7700 block of Baxter at 1:30 AM * Zone 5 Officers were flagged down by an anonymous male who stated that a male was shot on Baxter Street. Officers were able to locate a victim who had been shot in the leg. The male could not provide any details of how he was shot, nor who shot him. The male was transported to a medical facility in stable condition. (140491) *7/17/19-Theft from Vehicle-7000 block of Idlewild St at 1:00 PM * A victim reported that she left her black Taurus PT-111 9mm , 3 inch barrel Serial # TZD08491 in her unlocked vehicle on 7/15/19, and discovered the gun missing on 7/17/19 at 1:00 pm, then called police to report it stolen. *7/17/19-Theft from Vehicle-2000 block of Sonny Street at 9:00 PM *Zone 5 Officers responded for a victim whose car had been broken into. Five credit/Debit cards were stolen, along with two Coach Wallets. (141429) *7/19/19-Burglary-2200 block of East Hills Dr-8:00 AM-* A victim reported that someone forced their way into her apartment and stole a Samsung Chromebook 3, a Canon printer, and other items, including a key to the apartment. (142055) *7/19/19-Theft from Vehicle-2200 block of Parkhill Dr at 10:00 AM-*A victim reported that his truck was broken into, and someone stole $40.00 from it. (142165) *7/19/19-Robbery-7200 block of Race Street at 12:00 PM-*A victim stated that she walking on Fleury Way when an unknown black male suspect, approximately 59 years old, 5’9”, 150 pounds, black short hair, thin mustache, hazel eyes, wearing a white t-shirt with writing on the front, and faded blue jeans, grabbed her from behind and stole her purse. The victim had minor injuries from the suspect. (142196) *Larimer / Lincoln-Lemington* *7/14/19-Aggravated Assault-6200 block of Meadow Street at 11:00 PM.* A female victim stated that her 17 year old boyfriend punched her in the mouth and choked her. The victim lost two teeth which had to reset, and suffered numerous cuts, scrapes, and bruising. Zone 5 Officers will be obtaining a warrant for the juvenile male’s arrest. (139601) *7/20/19-Vehicle Theft-7200 block of Everton Street at 9:30 PM.* A victim reported that his 2006 Chrysler 300, sliver in color, PA plate KXF-4514 was stolen from a parking lot overnight. The victim could not remember if the vehicle was locked, and an extra set of keys were in the vehicle. (CCR 243657) *Bloomfield / Garfield / Friendship* *7/15/19-Burglary-5300 block of Brown Way at 3:00 PM. *A victim reported that a house being remodeled was broken into, and several tools were stolen- a Ryobi table saw, a Ryobi drill, and a Makita drill. (139203) *7/16/19-Theft from Vehicle-4600 block of Friendship Ave at 7:00 PM. *A victim stated that while he was walking his dog, he observed two young black males near his vehicle. The victim stated that as he approached the males, he told them to empty their pockets, and the males appeared to be frightened of the dogs. The males dropped approximately $5.00 worth of change and a charger, and fled. (140847) *7/16/19-Theft from vehicle-300 block of South Fairmount at 9:00 PM. * A victim reported that she had $100.00 U.S currency and three credit cards stolen from her vehicle. (141065) *7/16/19-Theft from Vehicle 5100 block of Friendship Ave at 10:00 PM. *A victim reported that someone stole a duffel bag with a hairdresser’s kit inside including a blow dryer, flat iron, clippers, razors, shears, and manicure equipment from her unlocked vehicle. (140782) *7/16/19-Robbery-4000 block of Liberty Avenue at 11:00 PM. *A business in the 4000 block of Liberty Avenue was robbed by two black males, approximately in their 20’s both wearing black jackets, gloves, one wearing a black scarf, and the other wearing a red scarf over their faces. Ono of the males displayed a gun, and placed it directly against the victim’s head, while the other suspect had a metal rod. The suspects fled with over $1,000 in U.S currency, and over 50 cartons of cigarettes, especially Newports and Misty. (140415) *7/17/19-Theft From Vehicle-400 block of Cedarville at 5:15 PM.* A victim reported that a Dell laptop computer, a laptop charger, and a brown wallet with various credit cards were stolen from his vehicle. (141275) *7/17/19-Robbery-200 block of Gross Street at 9:00 PM. *A victim reported that he was walking on Gross Street toward Pen when he felt something against the back of his head, and saw a black male with a red bandana standing in front of him, pointing a handgun at him with a black slide and a sliver body. The victim reported that the male then removed his wallet and cell phone from his pocket, but never took the book bag. The wallet was a blue nylon bi fold with $55.00 cash and numerous credit cards. A second male suspect was also in the area, but the victim did not get a good at him. (141084) *7/17/19-Theft from Vehicle-Sapphire Way at Minerva St at 10:00 PM. *A victim reported that he had a Dell Latitude 3090 2-in-1 Laptop tablet and charger stolen from his vehicle. (141557) *7/18/19-Theft fromVehicle-4500 block of Carroll St at 6:00 AM*-A victim reported that the following items were stolen from his unlocked vehicle overnight: 1 Boss PS-5 Super Shifter, 1 Electro-Harmonix OD Glove, 1 Behringer CD400 Chorus, 1 Boss DD-20 Giga Delay, 1 Boss RC-3 Loop Station, 1 Ernie Ball Volume Pedal, 1 cable, 1 Vox 2 Button Switch, 1 Pedaltrain Classic Pedalboard W/soft case-total value of $1,100.00 in guitar accessories. (141423) *7/18/19-Theft from Vehicle-5300 block of Penn Ave at 6:30 AM.* A victim reported that an unknown suspect entered her unlocked vehicle, ransacked it, and broke the lock on her glove department. Nothing was reported stolen at the time of the report. (141576) *7/22/19-Criminal Homicide-5100 block of Kincaid St at 12:30 AM*-Zone 5 Officer responded to the 5100 block of Kincaid St for a report of a 37 year old male who had been shot. Upon arrival, officers found the victim deceased. Michael Wolf, 49, of Garfield was arrested and charged with Criminal Homicide. (143951) *East Liberty / Highland Park* *7/12/19-Robbery of a Motor Vehicle-100 block of Auburn St 12:00 AM*- Zone 5 Officers assisted Zone 4 Officers for a carjacking that had just occurred in the 400 block of Peebles St. A male victim stated that he was driving when a black male and another unknown male pulled up next to him in truck and forced him out of his vehicle at gunpoint. The victim was robbed of his cell phone, wallet, and Honda CRV. When the victim called 911, he met Zone 4 Officers and used a tracking app to locate his phone. Zone 5 Officers were led to the 100 block of Auburn St where they were able to locate the victim’s phone and vehicle. A search warrant was obtained for the address where the males had hidden. Two guns and ammunition were recovered, and a second stole vehicle was also located nearby. Two male juveniles, and 19 year old Dayon Jones of East Liberty were arrested and charged with robbery, firearms charges, and receiving stolen property. (139672) *7/15/19-Robbery-5900 block of Bryant Street 6:30 PM- *A victim reported that as he walking in the area, a white male, approximately 5”10”, black hair, black t-shirt, bumped into him a stole his LG K30 cell phone, then fled in an unknown direction. (139505) *7/21/19-6000-Criminal Trespass 6000 block of Harvard Sq at 11:00 AM*- Zone 5 Officers were called to a local business in which a male had entered without permission, and entered a secured area, locking himself in a room. 28 year old Jamal Brown was arrested and charged with Criminal Trespass. (143564) *Morningside / Stanton Heights / Waterworks* *7/16/19-1800 block of Jancey **St –Theft from Vehicle at 12:00 PM-*A victim reported that his locked vehicle was broken into, and $50.00 to $60.00 in change was stolen.
