Hello Highland Park neighbors, checking to see if anyone has had any experience with having grout steam cleaned. I would like to have some done and have not looked into it yet. I'm also hoping for free since I will likely still need to pay for disposal at the end of my project. I'm trying to stay with models that were released roughly within the last 5 years. Free tan brick

I have a small amount of recovered tan brick from a construction project. It’s an unusual style for our neighborhood and I think it’s difficult to match with modern material. Some of it is broken and it needs cleaned, but it might be valuable for some repair/maintenance projects if you have the same style. Free, but needs to be removed by Sunday, Sept 12th.

Great Chance to Get Federal Carbon Pricing Enacted

Fellow HPers, I'm sure many of you have heard of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), a cap-and-invest initiative of the Eastern states that it looks like Pennsylvania is set to join. This is a great thing (in my opinion) if it happens. But now there's a chance to get a national price on carbon, which of course could have an even greater impact. Many studies <https://citizensclimatelobby.org/carbon-pricing-studies/>have shown that enacting a price on carbon is the single most effective way to reduce emissions quickly as it will ensure fossil fuels become less attractive economically, and alternative forms of energy more attractive. In addition to the environmental benefits, there are all types of economic ones as well. Given the human, property, and financial cost of the extreme weather we're experiencing, including flooding right here in our state, much of it attributed to the warming of the planet, it's not hard to miss the impact the cost of the burning of fossil fuels is imposing on our society. It was recently reported by Bloomberg <https://www2.citizensclimatelobby.org/acton/ct/17897/s-112d-2109/Bct/l-sf-r…> , The Hill <https://www2.citizensclimatelobby.org/acton/ct/17897/s-112d-2109/Bct/l-sf-r…>, and NBC <https://www2.citizensclimatelobby.org/acton/ct/17897/s-112d-2109/Bct/l-sf-r…> that the Senate Finance Committee is seriously considering enacting a price on carbon and PA Senator Bob Casey is a member of that committee. *The next meeting of the committee is this Thursday, September 9*. If they hear from lots of constituents expressing their support for a carbon price prior to that meeting, there's a good chance that it will be included in the package. *This is one of the best chances we have ever had of the Federal Government enacting some type of carbon price legislation.* An organization to which I belong (as do a number of other folks in the neighborhood), Citizens Climate Lobb <https://citizensclimatelobby.org/>y, makes it super simple to email and call Senator Casey or Brown. You simply click on this *link* <https://citizensclimatelobby.org/senator-brown-and-casey/?utm_term=Yes%21%2…>which will direct you to a page on the CCL website. You will be asked for a few pieces of information which will then allow you to automatically send an email (with a pre-written message you can change, if desired) to Senator Casey and the phone number of his office, along with a short script you can read (or modify). If you call after hours (such as today, Labor Day), you can just leave a message. *The whole process takes maybe 5 minutes*. Honest!
