Neighbors, My organization Hello Neighbor <https://www.helloneighbor.io/> works to resettle new neighbors to Pittsburgh. So many of you have been so supportive since we first started in 2017. I'd especially like to thank the St. Andrew's Church Community! We're hard at work welcoming Afghans families and have a few really urgent needs that we could use your help with the following immediately: - Does anyone have winter jackets, hats and gloves that you are no longer using in good condition? Or... - Are you willing to go shop at your local Goodwill or Red, White and Blue? Or... - Are you willing to buy discounted/end of season items? - Are you willing to drop these at our office or ship them to us? We're required to provide these items for new arrivals. We had over 40 new neighbors join us last week! We need these for babies, toddlers, young kids, older kids and adults. We're at the office Tuesday-Thursdays from 9-5 but we can also arrange another time if more convenient for you. Dear Friends and Neighbors, The Highland Park Garden Club is pleased to announce an exciting program line up for 2022, starting with a Zoom presentation on *February 19 at 10 am* about "*Winter Seed Sowing*" (directly to outside soil!) by Miriam Cheng of Wild Child Native Gardens and co-founder of the Western PA chapter of Wild Ones. A "new" state representative will be elected on April 5, 2022, to serve the remaining 8-months of Mayor Ed Gainey's term in Harrisburg. Because it's a "special election" it is possible only one name will be listed on the ballot (the candidate "hand-picked" by the local political establishment). 599 signatures from District #24 registered voters will allow Todd Elliott Koger's name on the ballot as a candidate "not affiliated" with a political party.
