The HPCC is hosting the URA (Urban Redevelopment Authority) at a special Zoom meeting on *Monday, June 13, 7 pm*. URA staff will provide information and answer questions about about two programs now being offered that provide financial assistance to property owners in the city of Pittsburgh: - *Homeowner Assistance Program*: This program provides 0% interest loans for homeowners at or below 50% of AMI (Area Median Income) for various home improvements. - *Small Landlord Fund*: This program provides financing to landlords who need to make repairs in 10 or less rental units. More information about the programs is provided in the attachments. We are THRILLED to announce our first house concert in a very long time. We are THRILLED to announce our first house concert in a very long time. Jesse Terry is coming - June 17th from 630-10 pm. Proof of COVID vaccination required. With his seventh album When We Wander due for a spring 2021 release and a series of livestreamed concerts firing up his ever-growing fanbase, Americana singer-songwriter Jesse Terry has ridden out the pandemic like few artists can. Raves from the likes of No Depression ("instant accessibility…brilliance and clarity") and Pollstar ("it’s easy to imagine hearing his songs on the radio in between cuts by Bob Dylan, James Taylor, Jackson Browne and Joni Mitchell") are great, but his fan community is what's truly priceless. A full-time touring artist for the past decade, the John Lennon Songwriting Contest Grand Prize winner and onetime Music Row staff writer normally plays 150 shows a year – from Bonnaroo, to the Philadelphia Folk Festival and AmericanaFest. When We Wander, the first album he wrote since becoming a parent, was recorded live with his band, and the family theme courses through it like a river through a canyon. Though recorded in 2019, the songs off the new album click with fans online too. He and his band recorded When We Wanderlive in the studio, a first for his career. "I wanted to try that Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton, Neil Young approach to live recording, prioritizing emotion and raw performances over perfection. I loved that experience." Recorded live, the album resonates especially with the intimacy and community spirit of the online shows. He also wrote all the music and lyrics this time, instead of working with collaborators, and took a very personal approach, including a look back. "In Spite of You" recalls his stay in a residential facility for behavior modification that traumatized him as a young teenager: "The sermons that you sold me all were fakes. The timing of the evening is from 630-10ish. Between 6:30-730 pm, there will be some snacks from Food Glorious Food (mostly desserts) and a place for kids (see more about that below) to play outside. There also will be an air hockey tournament while they are getting set up. Once the concert starts the only focus will be on the amazing musicianship. 4. After the concert we will be asking for donations. It is their livelihood so please come prepared to give. 5. Hi- follow up to my question about walking to the zoo. I heard from lots of neighbors but each had a different twist. Here is the official zoo reply: Yes, you may enter via the Education Complex on One Wild Place. You need to check in with the receptionist of the second floor. If you need to purchase additional tickets, they should be credit card purchases, not cash.
