Job includes pick-up from school/transport to activities, help with dinner prep, laundry, errands, tidying up and director of afternoon fun! Our boys are kind, creative, athletic and enjoy art projects, sports, legos and reading. Located in kid-friendly Highland Park. We have a small outdoor play yard, lots of indoor play space and are located a quick walk to two playgrounds. We also have a small (hypo-allergenic) friendly dog who loves to play with the boys. Both parents work full time (Dad from home). Flexible hours, approximately 2-7 pm, Monday through Friday, with option for additional weekend hours or date night hours. Fabric Scissor Sharpening

Hello All I will be sharpening fabric scissors and rotary blades this weekend outside of Firecracker Fabrics in Morningside. Both Saturday and Sunday, I will be parked at 1745 Chislett Street from 11 am to 4 pm for you to drop off your stuff to be sharpened. I will be charging $7 for scissors and $3 for rotary blades. I can do household scissors, pinking shears, and scissors of all sizes. I can take cash or cards as payment when you pick your items up. Having only done this once before, I do not know exactly how it will go, but my plan is to take the scissors/blades on Saturday and return them on Sunday. I will be sharpening while I am there, but will be interrupted as folks drop off their items and ask questions. I only say this to explain that I can not guarantee that I will get items completed to return on Saturday. If you are not available to pick your items up on Sunday, you can pay me in advance and pick them up later in the week at Firecracker Fabrics. But coming both days will give you the opportunity to check out Firecracker Fabrics. It is a great little store and a good resource for sewing information. If you have not been there, you should go and check out their material, patterns, kits and notions. Plus they are right next to the Cut and Sew Studio, so if you are interested in taking a class to learn or refresh a skill, you can check into that at the same time. See you this weekend. The rate of speeding along with crash history in these areas indicated a strong need for a traffic calming intervention. Each project will include the construction of speed humps and other pedestrian improvements including hi-visibility crosswalks. Permanent signage and pavement markings will be installed to alert motorists of approaching speed humps. Work is tentatively expected to begin on each corridor as follows: - Beacon Street – July 20, 2022 - The road will be closed to traffic during construction but flaggers will be stationed at each end in order to allow bus access and local traffic access to/from their residences - Bedford Avenue – July 27, 2022 - The road will be closed to traffic during construction but flaggers will be stationed at each end in order to allow bus access and local traffic access to/from their residences - Homewood Avenue – August 2, 2022 - One lane of traffic will be closed to traffic, with flaggers stationed at each end in order to allow alternating traffic The duration for each project expected to last two to three days, weather permitting. Hours of construction will be 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Temporary no parking signage will be posted throughout the corridor where work is taking place.
