Don't let their pretty appearance fool you - invasive Spotted Lanternflies are extremely destructive, causing millions of dollars of agricultural, forestry and even residential property damages. Allegheny and Westmoreland Counties have been designated lanternfly quarantine areas; residents are asked to help find and get rid of these pests. The HPGC website has links to two helpful videos for making your own Spotted Lanternfly traps, along with links to other informational resources. New Location: We will meet at the Frick Park Lawn Bowling Greens, 7300 Reynolds Street (in the shade next to the bowling greens) *Tuesday Yoga* 8 a.m. Outside weather permitting: gentle flow: stretch, strengthen and balance. AARP wants to hear from YOU! What makes Pittsburgh a great place to live? What could be improved to make our city a more livable community for adults 50+ and their families? AARP is hosting Livable Communities Listening Sessions which invite 50+ Pittsburghers and their families to share input on how the key areas of affordable housing, transportation, and access to public spaces can be improved to make Pittsburgh more livable for people of all ages. Please come ready to share your thoughts! Key themes from these conversations will be compiled for sharing with community stakeholders. The listening sessions will be held virtually over Zoom and community members must register in advance to join. A link will be sent 24 hours prior to all who are registered. The first session was in August. The final session is this week. - *Wednesday, September 7th, 6-7:15pm – District 8 Community Listening Session:* This session will feature a kick-off by District 8 City Councilmember Erika Strassburger.
