Hi all, My outdoor cat disappeared Tuesday morning from the 1100 block of N. St. Clair near Bryant. He's gray and white, white toes on gray paws, large (weighs about 16 lbs.) His name is Louie. He was rescued from the floods following Katrina. Hate to think he survived that only to get lost in Highland Park. If you see him or have any information about him, please call or email. [Highland Park] Need bricks for a project?

Hello All I have pieces of bricks that I dont need anymore. Think you can use them? I have various sizes and colors of bricks, some are 1/2, some 3/4, some just little pieces. Although I hate to get rid of them, because I may need a small piece of brick, I realize it is time to let them go. If you are doing a project, and are not picky about color, I have the brick pieces for you. Or if you need something to fill in holes in your yard, we can call them "dirt savers". I have about 2 30-gallon trash cans of brick pieces. I will even bring them to you if you want (but I am keeping the cans). Let me know if you are interested. Thanks Bob

Hi everyone, The PA Resources Council (PRC) has two upcoming opportunities where we could really use the help of some energetic, outgoing volunteers! Are you available?? 1) On Saturday, July 7, PRC is partnering with SciTech to celebrate GreenFest Pittsburgh, a Friends of Live Earth Event, at the Carnegie Science Center. Help is needed from noon until 5pm. Volunteers will help monitor our Recycling Olympics games (which is a lot of fun). PRC staff will be on hand to provide support and instructions. During the GreenFest, participants will be able to: · Experience the global Live Earth concert on the Buhl Digital Dome; · Enjoy fun, eco-friendly, hands-on activities, demos, films and more; · Compete in the Recycling Olympics; · Be amazed by the PA Resources Council's Recycling and Magic Show; · Hit the runway in our Eco Fashion Contest and try to win a $100 cash prize; · Bring old cell phones and ink cartridges to enter a drawing for cool prizes; · Learn simple things you can do to improve the environment, Then stay for a concert on the lawn featuring Donnie Iris and the Cruisers, Good Brother Earl and The Switch. Click on the GreenFest image. 2) On Saturday, July 14, PRC is hosting a "hard to recycle" collection event at Construction Junction. The hours are from 10am-2pm (volunteers would need to arrive by 9:30). We need help unloading vehicles, directing traffic in the parking lot, and facilitating some activities and contests. Weather permitting! The Kingsley Stingrays will be washing cars this Saturday at the Advance Auto Parts parking lot to raise money for transportation to an upcoming meet. Cars are $5, SUVs and vans are $7. Please come out and support the team. Carwash Saturday, June 30 10 AM - 2 PM Advance Auto Parts Parking Lot 5905 Penn Circle, East Liberty The Stingrays are a diverse, local swim team, founded in Highland Park, drawing swimmers from many local neighborhoods. We practice at the Kingsley Center in East Liberty during the fall, winter and spring.
