Yesterday's 3rd Annual HPCC Pumpkin Patch was a huge success! People turned out in droves (at least before the Steelers game started!) and every pumpkin was adopted. Thank you to all of the generous visitors who were able to contribute: for the first time, this event paid for itself! >From Magistrate Mik Pappas Dear Neighbors and Stakeholders, Access to pretrial justice has become critical to promoting public confidence in the fairness of state and local criminal legal systems. Jurisdictions in all fifty states - including Pennsylvania and Allegheny County - recently have undertaken a vast variety of such "bail reform" initiatives. While we should be grateful for the abundance of this work, we should also respect how challenging it can be for everyone to track and make sense of it all. *That is why I am pleased to be co-hosting a Bail Reform and Pretrial Justice Town Hall and Speak-Out, in collaboration with Civil Rights Corps. Please find attached a brochure for this special event, scheduled for the evening of Monday, October 17, 2022.* I hope that you will join us to participate individually or as an organization.
