[Highland Park] quilting frame

Many thanks to all who responded to my request for a quilting frame (my husband was doubtful but I knew there were a lot of quilters out there!). We found one and it will help us teach the students at St. Raphael School in Morningside. This is a wonderful school of kind teachers, administration, and staff who stress learning and good behavior. I recommend it highly. It is convenient as well; a short 12 minute walk, or 4 minute drive from Highland Park. Best wishes. --

[Highland Park] Tankless water heating

Has anyone had the tankless water heater installed in their home? I'm interested in it, but I'd like to get some feedback first. How do you like it? More importantly, what's the general cost of it? I just want to get an idea before I go any further with it. Thanks in advance, Rachel

[Highland Park] TANA Ethiopian Restaurant and Jazz on Wednesdays

Dear neighbors, I went to the Wednesday night Jazz at Tana's Ethiopian Restaurant last week (Baum Blvd.) and it was absolutely wonderful. The Tony Campbell Band plays there every week (7 to 10, no cover charge) and they are really an excellent group--very mellow jazz, not too loud so you can carry on a conversation, and an outstanding bass player!!! Of course, the food is wonderful as well and they offer $4 martinis in addition to Ethiopian wines!! I highly recommend this place as an opportunity to patronize a neighborhood venue.

Please note the corrected web site below to volunteer for the Marathon Water Stop in Highland Park. The Marathon volunteer organizers are still looking for hundreds of volunteers for the May 3rd race around Pittsburgh. Please consider donating your time that morning to make this Pittsburgh showpiece event a success. The return of our marathon has attracted the largest number of athletes ever and each water stop requires an energetic team of volunteers. Please go to the Marathon web site at <www.pittsburghmarathon.com> then, "Volunteer/Volunteer Activities" Look at the "Waterstop Mile 20.5" which is located along N. Highland Ave between Hampton and Bryant, and register. They also need a large team at the Waterstop 19.5 between Frankstown and Larimer on E.
