From what I've heard a mid 20s black male who happens to be gay was attacked by a few teenage thugs around 10 pm friday night near the union project. He was punched on the face, but injuries require hospitalization. Here is a message that I received yesterday. --------- A friend of mine was jumped in East Liberty last night. They didn't try to rob him. There were three kids, two of them crossed the street and then the third, from what I understand, came up behind Joe and pushed him then slugged him in the face. Joe ran into the street away from him and ran home. This happened Friday evening across from the Union Project. There was a small rally last night since the police took forever (I got the call at Gooski's...... and headed over there by bike, and the police didn't get there for a good 30-40 minutes or so after I reckon). But there's gonna be another gathering today at Negley & Stanton. As my friend happens to be queer, it's being taken as another gay bashing incident. Hello, neighbors. My husband and I have come to the realization that we just don't need two cars, so I'm selling mine, the newer of the two. It's a silver gray, 2007 Toyota Corolla CE four-door with automatic transmission, radio and CD player, rear window defrost, nice interior, excellent heat and a/c, currently inspected, has 44,000 miles on it, runs beautifully, no problems. There is a scratch on the driver-side rear door and two shallow little scuffs on the driver-side front fender. The book value is $8300; we are offering the car for $7000. Thanks for the responses concerning phone/internet/TV in the neighborhood. Responses were Comcast, Verizon FIOS and a smaller company called Cavalier. I'm wondering if any of you know if a TiVo can be used with packages from any of these companies, or do I have to give up my beloved TiVo in favor of one of their DVR? thanks, -justine

I was riding the bus past Stanton and Negley on Saturday around noon and there was quite a large demonstration on that corner. Per the signs I read, it was apparently in response to a gay bashing incident that occurred there on Friday night. I searched some websites this morning but see no mention of the incident or the demonstration. Does anyone know what happened there?
