~The All Saints Music Festival is one of the highlights of our year here at St. Andrew's~ Monday, November 1, All Saints Day, 8 p.m. Festival Opening Concert Pittsburgh Festival Orchestra Andres Cardenes, Conductor and Featured Performer Music by Handel, Torelli, Bach, and Mendelssohn Wednesday, November 3, 5:30 p.m. Choral Evensong With the Choristers of St. Andrew's and Calvary Episcopal Churches Thursday, November 4, 8 p.m., Commemoration of All Faithful Departed Choral Evensong Parish Choir of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, under the direction of Peter Luley. Recital following, Linda Morgan-Ellison, Piano, Playing Beethoven's Sonata, Op 26, Ab Major. Sunday, November 7, 11 a.m. Orchestral Service of Holy Communion W.A. [Highland Park] honking/noise ordinance

Please help me to understand something. We have recently moved here from Princeton, New Jersey where we had a very strictly enforced honking (noise) ordinance. Since moving to HP, I have experienced a very strange Pittsburgh habit. It seems as though my neighbors on both sides of me have a habit of "announcing that they are home" by honking their car horns sometimes 6-8 times as they approach their homes and continue for anther 5-6 times as they enter their driveways. It doesn't matter what time of day, early in the morning and late at night. I find this to be extremely rude and I'm not sure how to approach them about this. We are new to the street and they obviously have been doing this for years. Anybody else experience this?

Dear Neighbors, On Halloween, remember to bring your kids to the Second Annual Halloween costume parade and contest at the Highland Park fountain: Sunday, October 31st from 3:30 p.m. until about 5:00 p.m. RAIN OR SHINE!! The kids will show off their costumes while parading around the fountain and parents can take photos. We'll be giving out prizes in various categories & every child will get a prize! We will provide snacks and drinks so don't worry about having time to feed the kids before heading out for trick or treating. WE STILL NEED VOLUNTEERS FOR: ORGANIZING HALLOWEEN MUSIC SET UP FOOD TABLE JUDGES FOR COSTUME CONTEST CLEANUP DONATIONS OF HEALTHY SNACKS, APPLE CIDER, & small Halloween toys are appreciated.
