Now is your chance to donate in any way you can to make a difference in the UP community while shopping for friends and family! *The Union Project Bird Project:* Union Project has been working with neighborhood after school programs, senior centers and individuals in the community to make beautiful handmade ceramic bird ornaments. The ornaments, each one unique and created by someone in the community, can now be yours with a donation to Union Project! The birds *make great gifts *and are accompanied by a gift tag that describes Union Project's mission and the impact your donation is making in the community. Suggested donation is a $5 minimum for each bird. *The Union Project $5 ceramics cart:* All ceramics on the $5 cart has been made by members of the Union Project Ceramics Co-op. These artists create together in our shared studio space located on the lower-level of UP. The Ceramics Co-op has contributed to Union Project's mission by being an incubator that fosters the development of ideas, individuals, and organization for positive social change in the East End. [Highland Park] Recommendations for Heating?

I live in a 90 year old house here in HP and am not sure if old boiler/heater is working properly. I'm not freezing-but I don't hear the furnace kick on like usual. Does anyone have a good recommendation of a person or company that I can call to check it out? I will be happy to post responses to the list. Thanks! Joan Anson

Hello Neighbors, I have a friend who is raising two sons ages 14 and 11, and just discovered that she nor her sons have boots for the winter. I know how generous Highland Parkers have been towards those in need. [Highland Park] Request for Plastic Toy Containers with Cardboard Backing

Dear Neighbors, I'm starting a new art project and hoping to collect the clear plastic holder and cardboard backing that toy action figures, dolls, and other small objects come in. I'm interested in anything between 4-12 inches tall and would take the molded plastic container front part even without the card board backing if the backing get's ripped when being open by a small child. I'm imagining that a lot of these kinds of packages will be tossed in the garbage after Christmas anyway and so I'm asking if you have one of these packages to drop it off at Union Project (801 N. Negley Avenue) for me instead. UP is closed for the holiday and reopens again January 3rd. Our hours are 9-5pm with some evening classes but you are welcome to leave them in a bag or box on the Stanton side porch with my name on it as well.
