[Highland Park] Unauthorized archiving of mailing list content

Neighbors, I found out today that there is a site archiving the posts to the Highland Park neighborhood list without anyone's permission. I have contacted them to ask them to remove the content. Additionally, I found the fake subscribers on the list that were causing the messages to appear on the service, so it should be the cast that no further messages are archived in this way. I've updated the mailing list info page to remind everyone that redistribution of content requires permission from the author of the content. You can read the whole thing by following the link at the bottom of every post to the list. The service in question is "answerpot.com" and it was easy to find that our list is not the only one they've done this to. I've enabled a requirement on the list (temporarily) to require administrative approval to new subscriptions, but this measure won't guarantee that the things we posts are kept in our neighborhood--as you'll read when you follow the link below, there really is no way to know who's reading your posts so it's best to remember that when you are considering posting certain details on the list. She is a sound engineer for Prosody, NPR-affiliate WYEP’s weekly radio show featuring poets and writers. Victoria Dym is a graduate of Ringling Brother’s Barnum and Bailey Clown College and has also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and an MFA in Creative Writing - Poetry. She has appeared on stage, in movies, television, radio and as a stand-up comedian. Her poetry has been published in various anthologies, Pittsburgh Post Gazette, City Paper, and Pearl Magazine. She is a certified Laughter Yoga Leader and an active Madwoman. Dym has taught poetry at the Winter and Summer Institutes, has guest-lectured at schools and universities, and was named a Mellon Middle School Poet in Person. Every one of my clients, and virtually everyone I know, takes supplements. Yet the majority of people who take nutritional supplements have no idea what is in their products, nor do thy understand what supplements they really need, if they need any! We've all been told we need fish oils or Enzyme CoQ10 or Vitamin D or A or C or E. What are these things and do I really need them? And what is the source of the products I'm taking? Are the nutrients synthetic or are they from a whole food source? I firmly believe, and plenty of evidence supports me, that it is no longer possible to get all the nutrients we need simply from food. Partly because of topsoil erosion, in which 75% of the topsoil in the US has eroded, foods no longer have nearly as much nutrient content as they once did, even if you eat all organic. This erosion has been accelerated by commercial farming methods,including the use of pesticides and inorganic fertilizers. Our soils no longer provide optimal nutrition to the foods that grow in it. Supplementation with organic, whole food nutritional supplements is often a necessary part of maintaining optimal health. Let's start by drawing a distinction between synthetic supplements and whole food supplements. About 98% of all supplements sold are synthetic, which means that the nutrients are chemically recreated to be similar to the vital nutrients found in food. Similar, but not the same! For example, ascorbic acid, which is one part of the Vitamin C complex, is what most suppliers put in their pills as vitamin C. Most ascorbic acid is synthesized from high fructose corn syrup, which we know is a major contributor to diabetes, obesity, increased heart risk, etc. Your body is programmed to digest and utilize real foods, with their vitamin complexes largely intact. The Vitamin C complex also contains co-factors such as bioflavonoids, rutin, copper, cofactors, and enzymes, which when eaten as a food (oranges, peppers,?) is absorbed by your digestive tract and used by your body for a myriad of functions. When you take a synthetic form of ascorbic acid, your body has to recruit the other cofactors and parts of the C complex from other places to be able to utilize the ascorbic acid. So, in reality, when you take synthetic vitamins to treat a deficiency of a certain nutrient, you are actually creating a deficiency of the the vitamin complex co-factors. A net loss! Many scientific studies show that taking synthetic vitamins can actually be dangerous, especially taking the fat soluble vitamins A, D and E. One study from Finland used a synthetic form of Vitamin A, beta-carotene, to see if it would reduce cancer rates in smokers, but found that the synthetic vitamin dramatically increased the incidence of death from lung cancer AND heart disease! Whole food supplements work quite differently. They are made from real food that has been gently processed to maintain the high nutritional value and provide your body with an easily absorbed and usable form of essential nutrients. The whole food supplement will contain a higher dose of say Vitamin C complex, than you could get from eating a normal portion of the same food, but it is not a mega-dose and it is easily absorbed and used because your body recognizes it as food, not a druglike substance. It's important to get most of your nutrition from healthy, organic food sources. It is also important to fill in your nutritional 'gaps' with good quality, whole food nutritional supplements to make certain you have optimal health. Quantum Healing: The Ultimate Energetic Medicine by Paul Block, PhD My work is one of the most revolutionary yet non-invasive and elegant healing techniques today. The focus of my work, has taken Europe and Far East by storm and psychosomatic medicine forever. It is revolutionary new paradigm in healing physically and emotionally. In a family, each member has a profound and lasting effect on every other family member. Every being conceived into a family has an equal right to belong and be loved. Any unhealed wound, conflict or trauma between family members can stay alive in the morphogenetic field of the family for generations. The effect can be seen and felt in the offspring (often 3 or 4 generations past the original event) and appear as unexplained fears, recurrent disasters, chronic illness, suicide, drug dependency, psychiatric illness and chronic pain. Healing can often only begin when the original event is uncovered. Once these entanglements have been uncovered, healing and therapeutic interventions which previously seemed ineffective can now work. In my work, I use the knowledge of the patient’s three generational family tree.
