[Highland Park] Departed Roofer Greg Livner

Hello all, Sadly, we lost a roofer, Greg Livner, to a tragic accident. While working to improve the livelihood of the residents of our community Mr. Livner's life was taken away. Though, the wealth of our community is in the people, the wealth of the people is vested in the homes and these self-same homes are protected by the roofs above thus the roofers are synonymous with the agencies who protect and serve our community. Roofers risk their lives. When roofers work on a roof we are aware of that risk and often say a prayer for the safety of ourselves and our team. As our community grows and the list serve continues to provides us with a friendly market place we must be gracious to those who we employ to help us to grow. Thank you Greg. [Highland Park] Black Mold in Window AC units

With the recent heat, humidity, and rain, it seems several of my window AC units are starting to grow black mold. Of course the mold is growing on the inside where it is almost impossible to clean. Is there someone out there that offers as a service the cleaning of window AC units with some kind of mold killing foam or something? Thanks in advance, JAG

[Highland Park] A ride to the H.P. pool please?

I have recently relocated to Highland Park and want to go to the pool, but will need transportation. Hoping to find others who go for short swims and who might take me along too. Willing to help with gas or barter. I am older, female, and very flexible about time. Anyone can help? I live near Highland Ave. and Hampton St., and have trouble walking far. (I would also be interested in a ride to the Co-op or the Strip every once in awhile, same deal). Thanks!

Hello, I will be starting an AmeriCorps service year at a nonprofit located near where Children's Hospital is and I am looking for a nearby apartment. I need a 1 bedroom apartment that is less than $500/month ($400-$450 is ideal considering how low the AC stipend is.) I could pay a little more if utilities are included with the rent. Hello Everyone, Hot enough for ya'? Saturday we will start with Greenawalts local bread and butter corn, it will be in limited supply so we can keep it fresh. Chris just made up a fresh new summer salad.....Tuscan white bean salad, and we also have a very nice chick pea salad too. This summer has been smokin', business wise.......If you have not been in for a sandwich, stop by......our sandwich business is crazy. All good stuff at a reasonable price. I have the Columbus fire roasted pork loin at 9.99lb and also FINLANDIA swiss cheese at 5.99lb (fancy chain store price 9.99lb) We are also hot pressing our version of a cuban sandwich....Columbus pork loin, Boars Head smoked ham, relish, and your choice of cheese......we prefer a swiss.....but hey, whatever you're into is good by us...... [Highland Park] Tree Service

Well it looks like we were not the only ones that the storm trashed. So here are the names of tree services we received in no particular order. I recently had to have a huge tree cut down. Had a great experience with DC Culley. Got several bids. His was the lowest AND they did a good job ------------------------- We used Keelen Brothers Tree Service, Inc., 412-781-3415, http://keelenbrotherstreeservice.com/ They removed two dead trees which towered over our 3 story house plus some bushes. They are professional, do a good job in cleaning up and provide their services to the Boy Scouts's Camp Guyasuta across the Highland Park Bridge. ------------------------ We highly recommend Treemadters. They took care of a mulberry tree in out yard, but have also serviced several of our neighbors. Very reasonably priced and do great cleanup! The owner also is an HP resident. The number us 412-450-8031. ------------------------ Sorry to hear abut your storm damage. We are a local tree company and can come and provide a free estimate for your tree service needs. Since our lot is local to this area, our prices are the most competitive and numerous Highland Park residents have used our services with great satisfaction. If you are interested in scheduling an estimate, please call the office number below and I will get one scheduled. 412-450-8031 Brett Czarnecki. ------------------------------------ I have had great prices and excellent experience from Jungle Jim's Tree Service (412)823-4864.They have trimmed and cut down two trees for me. ------------------------- Sorry to hear it, but I have a recommendation.Hellmanns Tree Service (412) 533-5362 ------------------------------------ I highly recommend Olar's Tree Service. Call Jeff Olar at (724) 283-0310. He took down two trees for us. He is fast, extremely clean, and reasonably priced ----------------------------------- As to where we are in the process, I called the City at 311 to determine whether our tree, or any portion of it, is in the right of way. This after talking to a City crew that was taking down a tree that is in the ROW as well as clearly in the owners front yard. In short it pays to check in that ROW is not all ways obvious. Our question to the city is pending a review of the City maps. On the issue of home owners insurance we would get $150 after a $1,000 deductible. Big Whoop.
