[Highland Park] robbery attempt

There was a robbery attempt in the 1400 block of N. Highland yesterday in mid day. We got home about 3:30pm and saw 3 police cars. Apparently the burglar attempted to enter through the back door. He/she was scared off by the security alarm system. We don't know if they actually got in. Marsha Aarons

[Highland Park] Super Mario costume for sale

Almost new Super Mario costume (it still fits my small 11 yr. old, and would probably fit some bigger 7 or 8 year olds). It has a velcro closures in the back, very comfortable to wear over clothing. Hello Neighbors, I don’t know if any of you took the time to really look at a posting by Zineb Outnouna from Atlas Dreams Languages the other week, but she is holding an event entitled "A magic ride to Morocco" which I believe is being held Saturday afternoon Dec. 3, 2011. If you have never attended one her events or taken languages classes from her I highly recommend it. A quick snap shot of the event as I understand it is, a pottery art class with a Moroccan theme and presentation. Again, this is my understanding but I encourage you to please visit the official website listed below for exact details. I have attended language classes as well as several events she has hosted, and I can tell you that they are absolutely great. Not only is she very talented and intelligent, but the young woman was born with an overload of Charisma….. She makes learning an absolute great time whether you are a child or adult. I can assure you that this will be a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon with your children, grand children, or nieces/nephews. I cannot think of a better way to introduce children to different cultures, ethic diversity, while actually leanring something and having a great time. I promise you, it will be a great learning experience and you will have an absoluteBlast……! Take the time to visit her website, www.atlasdreamslanguages.com and check out the details of this event. If you cannot attend this event and she posts another event she is hosting, at some point try to attend one, I assure you, you will truly enjoy it. Believe me when I tell you, I live and work in this community, I would not recommend anything I was not 100% sure was worth while. I found this social networking site called Nextdoor, which is sort of a mashup of Facebook and geo-local social networking -of the face to face variety. I know this listserve is a great connector for folks in the East End (and beyond; hi Aspinwall, etc.!) and don't want to suggest it should supplant it. But I thought I'd throw it out there to see if there's any interest in a social networking site set up for our neighborhood/s. I've already got it started, but others are needed. Could be cool, but if you think "'meh', just something else to monitor," I get that too. https://nextdoor.com/ If you're so interested you'd like to jump right in on the welcome page, I called the neighborhood "East End" (found once you enter your address/info to check for availabilty) to encompass a broader range of folks. I have an older all cushion glider from Pottery Barn. It doesn't look like much but it is a very comfy cozy one especially for those long nights. I can't believe how long this has taken me to pass on by it now time. I was hoping someone could use it. HAPPY GLIDING!
