3 p.m. (NOT 4 p.m.) Sunday January 8 -- Continuing this Sunday, January 8, at St. Andrew's, Highland Park, Pittsburgh: "How the Bible Became Sacred Scripture" -- We continue this Sunday our Fall/Winter Adult Education Series, in observance of this 400th anniversary of the King James Version of the English Bible, featuring our Priest Associate, the Rev. Dr. Philip Wainwright,with the third in a series of four presentations and discussions on the topic, "How the Bible Came to be Sacred Scripture." This week we will be approaching the question of how some of the writings emerging in the early Christian community came to be regarded as Holy Scripture, the New Testament. All are welcome. In recognition of the great interest many will have to get home to see our Pittsburgh Steelers in the first playoff game of the post-season (which begins at 4:30 p.m.), the program this Sunday will take place from 3- 4:15 p.m. and will include a time for refreshments and informal conversation. The final program of the series is presently scheduled for 4 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, January 22. St. Andrew's is located at 5801 Hampton Street, Pittsburgh 15206.
