Unlike the much of the modern classical music which preceded it, minimalist music often emphasizes a recognizable pulse and tonal melodies, with a clear connection to pop music and the music of various non-western traditions (Indian classical music, Indonesian gamelan, African drumming, etc.) ELCO highlights the connections of this music to pop art and the loft party culture that spawned it by presenting it alongside transcriptions of jazz, pop, and New Wave music. [Highland Park] FOR SALE---- 2008 Suzuki Grand Vitara 4x4

Howdy HP'ers, Thought I would give this a whirl before I post it anywhere else. My family has entered the minivan era and we are selling our beloved and gently used SUV. I bought this Suzuki new in January of 2009, so it's been in service as they say for 3.5 years. I have all the records of everything done to the vehicle since new, oil changes, service, etc. Stats: 45,xxx miles on the ticker Gold exterior with charcoal cloth interior X sport model with moon roof, 6 CD in dash, MP3 and Sirius Satellite capabilities. 2.7 liter V6 engine,automatic transmission, alloy wheels with no curb rash (I don't live in the city remember) Car has a few scratches. Inspected until 1/13 Just serviced with new fluids, also had the transmission case flushed. The car is being professionally detailed inside and out next Wednesday, and I am waiting for the title from PENNDOT. KBB private party value is 12,500 in good condition. Now, the car will probably need 4 new tires in January for inspection, on the flip side it has a fully transferable bumper to bumper warranty good up to 100,000 miles or February of 2016. That's a nice chunk of warranty left. Obviously it doesn't buy you the tires, but it's nice peace of mind. I don't have any pictures as I am waiting for the detailing to be done. [Highland Park] Lost Scrap Metal

Hi neighbors, We are in the process of doing some construction on our house here in Highland Park, and had a pile of scrap aluminum neatly stacked on a pallet next to our dumpster last night. We did not have the chance to cover it up last night with a tarp, as intended . . . and when we walked out this morning, we discovered that this pile of tan soffit, facia and edging scraps has vanished. On the offhand chance that someone spotted it on the pallet, became concerned we were dumping it, and then liberated it with the intention of saving it from the landfill, please rest assured we were planning on recycling it. If it has not yet made its way to the scrap yard, we'd would greatly appreciate its return. (We're all for scrapping and dumpstering in general, as it can really cut down on how much waste gets landfilled, but if it looks like the owner has plans for it - and it's NOT in the dumpster or in a trash pile - please ask first!) [Highland Park] Missing Cat

My boyfriend's mom's cat has gone missing. Her name is Sidney and she's about 2 years old. She has shorter legs and a long torso and is white and brownish/gray. She got outside around 7:30 on July 9th and hasn't come back which is highly unusual for her, as she normally just stays in the backyard where she hunts insects. If you see her or catch her, you may call/text me at 724-989-4601. Sidney lives on Callowhill between Mellon and N.
