Kennywood ticket swap?

Hi neighbors — this is a long shot. We have four tickets to kennywood that expire after tomorrow (Sunday) but not sure we’re going to make it tomorrow as planned. Petition to extend timeline for PPS Facilities Plan

Hello Neighbors, PPS is developing a facilities plan that is expected to include closing schools. The public feedback portion of the plan has been fast-tracked over the summer, and residents who attended the meeting for our PPS district, told us of significant concerns about how they are estimating the cost of "required" infrastructure improvements the schools, what full capacity looks like, and how they weigh school performance - - there are specific concerns about the assumptions and data being used which appear skewed in such a way as to make a case for closing Fulton, even though it is a high performing school. Neighborhood schools are important to the community and we do not want them to close ours! *Concerned PPS families and community members have created a petition asking the School Board to extend their timeline for the plan so that there can be more meaningful public engagement, a broader discussion of the criteria for closure, and a more rigorous look at the assumptions and data. We encourage you to take a look at the petition and consider signing it to help ensure a better process for all our schools, students, and families. Free crib/toddler bed, and loft bed

We have a crib that converts to a toddler bed, with adjustable mattress, height, and a mattress that’s in really good shape to a family who can use it. That’s in a walnut/mahogany/coffee color spectrum. Likewise, we have an IKEA loft bed, metal, and silver, free to get home. It also has a built-in desk. This one has less hardware, so for those with creative and adventuresome spirits it’s an easy one to make useful. Pics of both of these below. They are currently disassembled and in the back of my pick-up truck, and for those who respond quickly, I can deliver. Preference would also be given to those who want both while still on my truck. This brief delivery opportunity expires sometime tomorrow in the early afternoon, when I pull them off my truck to make space for the things I need to do. Sent from my toaster. HP Mail Theft & Check Fraud

Hi Neighbors, So many great things are shared on this list serve about this super neighborhood. Unfortunately this is one of those bummer emails. Sharing so yinz can all better protect yinzselves. Yesterday we learned that a fraudulent check had been cashed in our bank account. A legit check we had put in the mail had been stolen somewhere along the way, ’washed’ (a new payee and new amount was entered) and successfully cashed. (Yes, I'm going through all the steps to report this etc). When I spoke about my situation to an officer at Zone 5, they said that in the last couple of days they had handled about five calls from HP residents who were victims of this very kind of check ‘washing’. Thieves fishing letters out of mailboxes in search of $$ is apparently fairly profitable. Could be that we all used the same box? If so, I’m writing to say that I posted my letter in the old school blue mailbox on Heberton at Jackson. I think this box does not have the more recent theft deterrent brushlike device at the opening. Anyway, there ya go. Stuff happens. Stay cool. Stay Highland Park.
