Hi, Neighbors, I am sending this in order to help prevent accidents. Today we received an email from MoveForwardPGH whose headline said: Survey Alert: Shadyside Bike Connector. We happened to scroll down and noticed beneath the Survey a notice about Neighborway Bike Ride plans that included a sponsored ride on Euclid Ave. this Friday (June 4) between 5 and 6, a time when many people are coming home from work. I would like to know why this is being allowed at a time where there is likely to be more of a conflict between cars and bicycles and without notice to the HPCC and to media in general. Hi Neighbors - This afternoon MoveForewardPGH is hosting a celebratory bike ride for the N. Euclid neighborway. This ride will start at 5:15 pm at the Healthy Ride station at Penn Ave & Whitfield St in East Liberty and proceed onto the Euclid Avenue Neighborway all the way to and through Highland Park. All ability levels are welcome; drivers please pay extra close attention! There will be refreshments and info on upcoming projects. Masks are required. Here's the announcement: Join us in celebrating the Euclid Ave Neighborway with a bike ride! This ride will start at the Healthy Ride station at Penn Ave & Whitfield St in East Liberty and proceed onto the Euclid Avenue Neighborway all the way to and through Highland Park. You’ll get to roll with the Move Forward PGH team and learn more about the Bike(+) Plan and future projects that make streets safer for people using all modes of transportation including biking and walking. This will be an all ages and abilities ride, and no one will be left behind. This is not a race; this is a casual, social roll down one of Pittsburgh’s newest pieces of street infrastructure. Neighborways are designed to be a low-stress street for people biking, walking, and rolling of all kinds so this will be a friendly, no stress ride. Quite a mouthful that, but that’s what it is: a big wooly snuggly bag that goes into your stroller in the cold of winter, or for your baby to just snuggle in at home. It zips open on both sides. Our daughter used it a few years ago, and it’s in perfect condition: no stains or marks, and from a smoke free/pet free household. To be honest, we feel bad parting with it, but we’re never going to use it back in Australia, so we’re hoping it can find a new home here.
