Neighbors. This is the last week to purchase and drop off linens for families in need. St. Andrew's is collecting new twin, full and queen sheet sets, comforters, and blankets. You do not need to purchase the full set, individual items are welcome. Items can be dropped off on the Rectory porch (5801 Hampton St.) through Sunday Sept. 17. All items will be donated to Off the Floor Pittsburgh to help families in need in the Pittsburgh area. Please see the attached flyer for more information.

FS: Youth hockey gear

Any kids out there playing hockey? We’re clearing out gear from a few years ago, mostly youth S to L (~5-12yo). Skates size Y8, Y10, Y12, 1, 2. Chest pads, pants, elbow pads, neck guards, gloves, & shin guards. Great for a backup or to grow into during the year. Also have a 4 rolls of plastic hockey tape. Any reasonable offer accepted before I make a trip out to Play-it-again sports. Also happy to give away game and practice jerseys, socks, and shells for Pittsburgh Huskies, SCIR, Ice Kings and others if there is any interest. Gear will be washed before handing off. We are THRILLED to announce our Third and final Highland Park house concert of the year The concert is September 17th FROM 600-930 PM (I am old and it is a school night). Our address is 1232 N Highland Ave 15206 (it is right across from Tazza D’Oro And the music is from a wonderful musician who combines the best of America and Ireland. Her name is Sarah McQuaid. Sarah McQuaid’s lush, chocolatey voice combines with her engaging personality, “subtle mastery onstage” (Huffington Post) and “brilliant musicianship” (fRoots) on acoustic and electric guitars, piano and (occasionally) drum to create a truly immersive experience. Born in Spain, raised in Chicago, holding dual Irish and American citizenship and now settled in rural England, she brings the eclecticism of her background to her “captivating, unorthodox songwriting” (PopMatters) and choice of material, spanning genres and defying categorisation. Renovation advice

Hello neighbors, We have reached the point where we are preparing to renovate our first floor, which will include our kitchen and powder room, as well as living and dining rooms. I am reaching out because I know that we are far from the first in the neighborhood to do this and I would love any advice you may have! What is your favorite extra that you decided to add to the kitchen? What did you do that didn’t turn out to be worth the time or money? What would you do differently if you could do it over?
